“Intimate, funny, deeply affecting; The Kids Grow Up exemplifies personal filmmaking at its most truthful and absorbing. It’s wonderful.”
— Ann Hornaday, Washington Post

In The Kids Grow Up, filmmaker Doug Block follows up his internationally acclaimed documentary, 51 Birch Street, with another universal family story. From the moment of his daughter Lucy’s birth, Block has captured much of her life – and their relationship – on camera. Now his only child has turned 17, and is just months away from leaving home for college.  Lucy’s imminent departure is the springboard for The Kids Grow Up, a funny and moving look at fathers and daughters, modern-day parenting and the looming empty nest.
