Battle against time

While working on “112 Weddings“, we sometimes have to do battle with decades-old Hi8 video tapes, some of them fraught with magnetic and mechanical problems. So far we’ve not run into any problems we can’t overcome, but when we start to kvetch too much about restoring old footage, we try to think of the incredible folks at Criterion, and the work they pulled off recently on their gorgeous restoration of Chaplin’s “The Gold Rush”. Next to that, our restoration work seems easy peasy!
